Las Vegas Helicopter Tours

Helicopters – everyone loves ‘em.

Bear with me for a moment while I tell you a story:

Some time ago I had a friend who thought that she didn’t have the right to name her own child. She figured that her boy was a free person under the sun, beholden to no-one, so why should she fetter him with a name of her choosing? He should be able to choose his own name – he’s the one who’s got to live with it, after all.

So, on this child’s sixth birthday, she told him that he was now old enough to name himself. Given this new-found freedom, the child paused. Did he know what name he’d like to call himself for the rest of his life? He did indeed. What name was that? “Helicopter,” the six year-old promptly replied.

This story has two take-home points. 1.) Don’t let a six year old name himself, and 2.) Everybody loves helicopters. Especially helicopter tours exploring the Las Vegas basin, Grand Canyon, and Mojave Desert.  If you’re thinking about taking a helicopter ride while in Las Vegas, here are your best options.

Special Event/Romance Helicopter Tours:

Grand Canyon Wedding Helicopter Ride: As if getting married wasn’t a big enough event, if you really want to do something special and unique, you can say “I Do,” while deep within the Grand Canyon in a special six-seater helicopter. Good for wow factor.

Vegas Strip and Hoover Dam Twilight Tour: See the famous Hoover Dam, watch the sun set over the Mojave, and return to see the glittering Las Vegas strip at dusk. Great for couples and romance, not so good for kids.

Grand Canyon Western Rim Deluxe Sunset Helicopter Tour: If you’re looking to do something truly special with your loved one, then this is the ticket. With over 230 5-star reviews, this magical helicopter ride is without a doubt, the pinnacle of many couples experience in Las Vegas.

Good For Kids

Grand Canyon Helicopter Flight and Colorado River Float Day Trip: One of the best options available, this combo tour gives you the opportunity to get the best of all that Nevada has to offer. Take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, then float down the Colorado river. Two incredible adventures in one day – hard to beat!

Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour and Colorado River Boat Ride: Take an exciting helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, enjoy a champagne picnic, then cruise the Colorado River.

Skip the Line: Grand Canyon Skywalk Express Helicopter: Who hates standing in line? Kids. Adults too, but kids can’t tolerate it. Especially not in the summer heat. This is a great way to see a lot of the Grand Canyon without the misery of long lines.

Grand Canyon Helicopter and Ranch Adventure: Here’s a great way to see the Grand Canyon and get a taste for cowboy living. Kids adore the Wild West and on this tour you’ll actually dip into the Grand Canyon, not just fly over it. A treat for the whole family.

Ultimate 4-in-1 Grand Canyon Tour: This tour gives you the most flexibility in your viewing of the Grand Canyon. On one heck of a day, you’ll fly to the Western Rim of the Grand Canyon via helicopter, ride a boat through the Colorado River, then visit Eagle Point and Hualapi Village on a coach tour along the rim, before enjoying a BBQ on a picturesque vantage point.

Luxury Tours:

Grand Canyon West Rim Combo: Luxury SUV, Helicopter, and Boat: This tour combines the best options into one great big adventure. Explore the western rim of the Grand Canyon (you’ll actually fly into the canyon), take a luxury SUV to the observation deck, and explore the Coorado River by boat. This is the Big Daddy helicopter tour for those who want the most out of their experience.

The VIP Deluxe Grand Canyon West Rim and Valley of Fire: This tour is a VIP option including champagne brunch and the often overlooked Valley of Fire. See more of the Grand Canyon with this helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon.

Budget Tours:

Grand Canyon West Rim Day Trip: This is a great all day trip that maximizes value for your money. Get to the Western Rim of the Grand Canyon by coach, explore the canyon via helicopter, then ride a boat down the Colorado River. You definitely get your fair share of excitement on this one.

Las Vegas Strip Night Flight with Transport Here’s a great budget optiong that still gets you above it all and into the clouds without breaking the bank account. This is a great option for kids as well, as the flight is only 10 minutes long and lets you zoom over the strip. Heck, it’s even a great way to get oriented in Las Vegas – an eagle’s eye view gets things off to a nice start, and keeps you properly oriented.

Grand Canyon All-American Helicopter Tour: This helicopter tour picks you up from Las Vegas airport (which is located just off the strip) and takes you on an exhilarating 45 minute helicopter ride where you’ll actually land within the Grand Canyon and explore its western rim. A great way to see the Grand Canyon if you’re strapped for time or cash.
